Welsh football coach-player Ryan Giggs has evinced remarkable concern over the lack of native managers in the teams of Premier League.
An inspection of the league club composition brings out the fact that out of the 20 teams we have in the premier league, only seven of them have British managers. Moreover, the seven teams who are currently enjoying top position in the table have their management carried out by foreigners.
Giggs claims, “I don’t think there’s enough (British managers) at the moment.”
“I think it is important (British coaches get a chance). There’s a lot of top quality foreign coaches in the Premier League, but there’s also a lot of quality British coaches and managers out there.”

He debates that dominance of the number of foreign managers in the teams deprives local talents of their opportunity to manifest themselves.
“If you don’t get the chance, you don’t get the chance to prove what you can do and see what you can do with a talented team,” Giggs added.
“As I say, there are quality foreign coaches as well. I just think on the balance, there’s too many foreigners at the moment and British coaches probably just don’t get the chances.”
West Bromwich Albion F.C. comes up as the highest ranked team with a British manager, Tony Pulis, at eighth in the table.
Giggs, the most decorated player in the football history, was conferred the responsibility of interim player-manager in the Manchester United for four games towards the end of 2013-14 season.
