Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen has given a bold response to rumours that have surfaced regarding interest from European giants Real Madrid and PSG for his signature
Reports have claimed that the La Liga giants are ready to get into a battle for snapping up Eriksen as they target a long-term successor for Luka Modric. Meanwhile, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have also apparently been considering a swoop for the Denmark international, who is reportedly looking for parity equality with some of Spurs’ top earners. It is believed that talks have started over a new deal for Eriksen, who is at present on a £70k per week deal, with the 26-year-old having seen Dele Alli and Harry Kane both recently signing bumper new contracts.
Eriksen has responded to the rumours, stating: “There are so many reports. Don’t believe them, not from what I know anyway.” He did not, however, give any updates on the progress of a new deal, but gave his bits regarding the stadium change on the horizon for Spurs.
“We have always been happy at Wembley,” he continued. “But of course, everyone wants to move into the new stadium. You can’t move into a new stadium before it’s finished, though. We just have to wait until it’s properly done. We know when that time comes it will be exceptional. People are getting their hopes up that it will be sooner rather than later, but it takes time, we just need to be patient.”
Eriksen has been one of the biggest playmakers, and one of the best if there was any doubt, not only in England but all of Europe, for the past few years. He deserves status as one of Spurs’ most important players, and certainly equal pay with the club’s highest earners! Failing to do would be criminally ignorant of the club, and could change the Danish midfielder’s mind about his future in London, so they must move fast to ensure that Eriksen is tied down as soon as possible.
