Gunners to use Ramsey deal to bring in Juve defender?
Reports in the Italian press have come up with claims that Arsenal boss Unai Emery is pondering whether to move for Juventus centre-back Mehdi Benatia. The Gunners have had a bad time with their defence, which has been ravaged by injuries, with Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi, Hector Bellerin and Laurent Koscielny all struggling, and Rob Holding a long-term absentee.
Benatia and Arsenal were also linked in 2014, when he was at Roma, but he eventually joined Bayern Munich, and then Juventus. With the Turin club on the verge of signing Aaron Ramsey, Gazzetta have suggested that the two clubs might come to a compromise where Arsenal sanction an early exit for Ramsey on the condition that Juve does the same with Benatia. But in these early stages, nothing is clear, so for now, all this is just a task of putting 2 and 2 together.
