Once a player declared a failure at former club Chelsea, Liverpool’s star Mohamed Salah has now been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid.
After Barcelona’s big money move for Philippe Coutinho, it is believed that Real Madrid will move for Salah in the summer. Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane confirmed that there won’t be any moves in the January window, so it is safe to assume a summer move is possible.
With 23 goals in all competitions for Liverpool, the Egyptian international has enjoyed a phenomenal return to English football after leaving Chelsea for AS Roma a few years ago.
Sky Sports Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported of Madrid’s interest in one of Coutinho’s former teammates, who has now been confirmed as Salah.
Real Madrid have reportedly stepped up their interest in Mohamed Salah in response to Barcelona signing Philippe Coutinho.

Real Madrid to move for Salah in the summer
Spanish news outlet SPORT also reported of Madrid’s interest in a transfer to bring the former Roma star to the Santiago Bernabeu. The front trio of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be running out of steam and someone like Salah would freshen things up a bit.
Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be a big fan of the Egyptian after his 42 million Euro move from the Serie A. He is just one goal behind Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane in the race for the golden boot with 17 goals in league football.
Madrid’s transfer for Kepa Arrizabalaga is done, however, the Bilbao keeper will move to the Bernabeu in the summer.
Madrid’s interest in Salah is no surprise. The Egyptian has enjoyed a stellar return to Premier League football and if he has no prospects of winning silverware at Anfield, he may be tempted to make the switch to the Bernabeu if the opportunity knocks at his door. He has shown that he now has the end product to his game that he previously lacked.
