The midfielder looks set to leave at the end of the season and Ligue 1 champions are eager to cast him now.
It’s tough situation for a club when a player is running down its contract. The club remains in a dilemma whether the player will extend the contract or should they cash in. French champions PSG are going through the same situation. It seems PSG name their price for Chelsea and Liverpool transfer target.
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly named their price for Adrien Rabiot amid speculation that the midfielder could be set for a move to the Premier League. The 23-year-old has only made three league starts under Thomas Tuchel this season. He has not travelled with the rest of PSG’s squad to their warm-weather training camp in Qatar. Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season and is refusing to sign a new deal. It has alerted the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal to the situation. Reports last week suggested that Chelsea had even made an inquiry with a view to signing the sought-after French midfielder following Cesc Fabregas’ switch to Monaco.
According to Paris United, PSG have slapped a €15million (£13m) price tag on Rabiot and are ready to talk with potential suitors this winter. The Ligue 1 giants are looking to cash-in on Rabiot during the January window rather than letting him leave for free at the end of the season. PSG sporting director Antero Henrique confirmed last month that Rabiot is looking to leave the club in the summer. Asked if contract talks with Rabiot will continue, he replied, ” At this point, no. It was a decision made by the club following a meeting I had with the player.”
Author’s Take:
The price is low and it seems clubs maybe keen to lure him. Not only Chelsea or Liverpool any club would cash in that amount of money. However, the player’s disciplinary issues could fend off any club. Rabiot at times has been a bad influence at the dressing room and this could be a reason why any side may back down.
