PSG news: Kylian Mbappe has said that it would be best and special to win the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain.
The French behemoths are considered as one of the favourites to win the Champions League 22/23 trophy. They have a star-studded squad which has the likes of Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.
PSG also bolstered its squad in the summer transfer window. They made seven signings in the summer of 2022, further strengthening an already impressive squad.
PSG will be looking to finally conquer Europa this time out. And, they began their Champions League 22/23 campaign with a 2-1 win over Italian giants Juventus.
Mbappe admitted that it would be unique to win the Champions League with PSG. While he understands winning the Champions League, regardless of who you win it with, is winning the Champions League, he feels it would best to do it with PSG.
Speaking to PSG’s official club handle, Mbappe also recalled scoring a hat-trick against Barcelona at Camp Nou.
Mbappe said it was ‘special’ and that he felt ‘proud’ after that performance.
“I went from being a good player to being a very good player. That night I managed to score a hat-trick at Camp Nou, it was something special and frankly, I was proud because I had to play with a lot of personalities, as I always say,” Mbappe said.
“It would be special to win here in Paris. Winning the Champions League, wherever you are and whatever you do, is winning the Champions League. But of course, for me, winning it in Paris would be the best,” the PSG superstar stated.
Meanwhile, Mbappe and PSG have had a stellar start to the season. PSG is unbeaten so far this season, and Mbappe has been one of those players leading from the front.
Mbappe has already scored nine goals for PSG this season, from just seven appearances. He scored seven those of in Ligue 1 and the other two in PSG’s win over Juventus in Champions League.
Meanwhile, PSG sit on top of the Ligue 1 points table with 19 points from their first seven matches. They have dropped just two points so far this season. That came against AS Monaco, who held them to a 1-1 draw.
