The controversial play of Barcelona that led to its historic comeback in the Champions League is finally confronted by a concrete act by the competing French side, as the latter has issued a five-page dossier to the UEFA, pointing the unjust refereeing in the game.

The letter to the European governing body recounts eight major incidents including unjustified allowances to the Barca players and errors by the referee that caused PSG to slip off. However, notably, the dossier doesn’t plead for a replay, an online petition attracting over 2,50,000 signings, nor does it demand demotion for the German Aytekin whose performance is already attacked as erred and reckless by a great number. What PSG has done is just compiling the mistakes of the referee and a demand to avoid such a performance in top-tier matches in future.

The Barca were rewarded two penalties, with the late 90th minute to Luiz Suarez. PSG were denied penalty when Angel di Maria was fouled by Barca defender Javier Mascherano who later admitted the fact, “It is clear that I did foul Di Maria but I think that is not the reason why we eliminated PSG.”

The two attached video clips highlights the moment of the first penalty offered to the Barca for a foul on Brazilian Neymar, the apparent stamp by Neymar on PSG’s defender Marquinhos and Gerard Pique’s shirt pull and handball- the two offences that went unpunished.

PSG reflects that it didn’t receive ‘respect’ from the referee and intriguingly, also conceives and admits that it didn’t play very well.

The Ligue 1 club called former international referees and experts to analyse the performances who have brought the various controversial moves in focus.

As reports in Spain claim, the UEFA itself doesn’t approve Aytekin’s decisions for which he can even face demotion from Champion League matches.
