Rafinha on his move away from Barcelona

Rafael Alcântara, known as Rafinha recently completed his loan move from FC Barcelona. The move was done on the transfer deadline day.

He started his playing career at FC Barcelona’s La Masia academy. He then went on to play in the first team. Though he was one of the highly-rated youngsters coming out of the famous academy, injuries had its fair share of setbacks.

Rafinha( 26-year-old) played under former FC Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique. He played with Celta de Vigo during the 2013-2014 season. In the loan season with Celta as a player, Rafinha made 32 appearances. Rafinha was awarded the league’s Breakthrough Player of the Season. His competitors were of Real Madrid’s Jesé and Rayo Vallecano’s Saúl Ñíguez

Rafinha’s Thoughts on leaving Barcelona

Rafinha has finally told why he left the Camp Nou in order to secure a move to Celta de Vigo. The midfielder moved to Celta on a loan deal despite starting the season well under Ernesto Valverde.

He stated that he left the Camp Nou because he wasn’t sure whether he would get enough minutes if he had stayed in Barcelona. He said he opted to go to another club where he would be a guaranteed starter. Celta de Vigo was something that he will almost certainly be in the starting lineup.

He revealed that it was very difficult to say goodbye to Barca because he had been playing well in the team.

In a twitter post, Rafinha wrote, “It’s time to say goodbye again. As I said back in the day, I’m forever grateful, and will always be a Culé.”

He was also quoted by Barca Blaugranes(provides the latest news for Barcelona fans), “It is normal that when you are playing and feeling so good in the best club in the world, it is always difficult to have to say goodbye. The same thing happens when you feel so good, but you know that it will be difficult to have the opportunities you want. Feeling like how I felt, the best thing I could do was look for an opportunity in another club.”

Riqui Puig unsettled at Barcelona?

The club feels that it is better for the youngster Riqui Puig to continue his development elsewhere. A loan move is being discussed with plenty of clubs interested.

Despite being heavily used by Ernesto Valverde in pre-season, the club has decided it. An overcrowded midfield means that Puig would struggle to get any first-team football. He would most likely play in the Copa del Rey. Though Riqui Puig is certainly seen as someone with a long-term future at the Camp Nou.
