Ranji Trophy: Not long ago, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has come up with an important update for the domestic players. The Ranji Trophy tournament kicked off from February 10 onwards.
The resumption of domestic cricket was indeed good news for the domestic players. They are doing their best to polish their skills in the best possible manner.
The domestic red-ball competition made a spectacular comeback after almost two years. The coronavirus pandemic affected the domestic tournament for a long time now.
As a result, the players refrained from playing the games and were forced to sit at home. The first phase of the competition was between February 10 and March 15. The second phase started after the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.
The second phase of the domestic red-ball tournament kick-started on 30th May. The tournament comes to a close 26th June. In general, a sum of 64 games will be played across 62 days.

Meanwhile, Mumbai’s young cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal made the headlines after he got off to a slow start. He ran through a funny moment on the field in the second innings of the Ranji Trophy semifinal.
Mumbai are locking horns with Uttar Pradesh in the peak encounter. He didn’t get off the mark in 53 deliveries. It was only on his 54th delivery, he got off the mark.

He opened his account with a boundary after quite a while. Soon after that, Yashasvi Jaiswal got a massive applause from his Mumbai teammates in the dugout including the Uttar Pradesh players.
Meanwhile, the cricketer himself took it sportively as he went on to raise his bat towards the dressing room. He thanked them for the applause, which left his players in stitches.
The video clip of the same has been doing the rounds on social media. Earlier, Yashasvi hit an impressive hundred in the second innings against Uttarakhand in the quarterfinals. It helped Mumbai win the game by a massive margin of 725 runs.
