Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar feels that former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri doesn’t make intelligent comments as the former said there is a clear agenda behind it.

While peaking to CNN-News18, the Indian commentator added that he was a massive admirer of Ravi Shastri as he already played under him. However, he feels that the other version of Shastri doesn’t make intelligent remarks.

“I was a huge admirer of Ravi Shastri. I played under him, he gave players support, a great fighter, senior. This Shastri 2.0 I don’t understand. What he says in public is expected, I don’t react to it.

“I don’t want to be disrespectful. He doesn’t make very intelligent comments, you can see the agenda behind it. It’s not an accurate cricketing observation,” the Indian commentator added. Recently, Virat Kohli stepped down as Test captain.

Rohit Sharma who is already the ODI and T20I captain would be the obvious choice to become the next Test captain. Moreover, Rohit has been sincerely working on his fitness. Fitness plays an important part in cricketers’ journey. Earlier, Rohit pulled out of the South Africa tour citing a left hamstring injury and was not fit at the same time.

Now, he has worked well on his fitness and reduced some kilos. He is expected to lead his troops from the front for the upcoming home limited-overs series against West Indies. The first ODI between India and West Indies will kick off on February 6 in Ahmedabad. India will play 3 ODIs and as many T20Is against West Indies.
