Ravi Shastri: “This Is a National Asset”, Ravi Shastri on His Old Sedan Car

Ravi Shastri: Ravi Shastri was one of the finest all-rounders of his time. He started his career as a spinner and later went on to become a batting all-rounder. Shastri was known for his fabulous batting in cricket.

One of his most memorable performances of Shastri was in the 1985 Benson & Hedges World Championship of Cricket. India won that championship by defeating Pakistan by 8 wickets in the Finals.

Ravi Shastri was named as the Man of the Series of that tournament for his exceptional performance with both Bat and Ball. He was awarded an Audi 100 car which he drove in the Melbourne Cricket Ground with his teammates.

Ravi Shastri was recently spotted with his vintage prize in Super Car Club Garage in Thane. He shared a photo with his car with a caption saying, “This is as nostalgic as it can get! This is a national asset. This is #TeamIndia’s @AudiIN – @SinghaniaGautam.”

In 2007,Shastri temporarily coached the Indian Team for it’s Bangladesh tour. He was then appointed as the teams head coach in July 2017. He was the former director of BCCI before he became the coach.

Shastri was given 8 Crore per year for coaching the Indian Team. Under his guidance, India defeated Australia twice in the Borde-Gavaskar Trophy. India dominated everyone in their home series.

Shastri’s contract was extended for 45 days on 13 June while the World Cup was in progress. Later on 16 August 2019, he was reappointed as the Head Coach till 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Shastri was sacked from the Head Coach position following India’s exit from the 2019 World Cup. Rahul Dravid is the current head coach of the Indian Team. Ravi Shastri had to go through lots of ups and downs while he was coaching the Indian Team. A lot of politics was being done and many wanted him to exit as team’s Head Coach.

Shastri is a huge fan of cars, which can be seen from the fact that he still has his Audi 100 in such a good condition and brings it to show other people and tell story related to it and how much the car means to him.

Ravi Shastri owns a good fleet of cars which includes many branded cars such as Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW and Ford. Shastri became the owner of Audi RS5 in 2020 and flaunted his supercar on Social Media.

Now Ravi Shastri is no more the Head coach of the Indian team and now is a commentator and media person who works with the BCCI. He is pretty well in his job and likes to do this job too.
