The pressure was already building on Tedesko’s team to deliver. However, things only turned worse in the Champions League as the German club suffered a 1-4 loss against Shakhtar Donetsk in their opening match.

Ultimately this poor start coupled with the Champions League humiliation led to the sacking of Tedesco.

Who will be the next manager?

Leipzig have confirmed that they have started their search for the next manager and will soon release an update on this.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Leipzig board considers Marco Rose as the main candidate to replace Tedesco.

Leipzig will face Borussia Dortmund in their next match.
