Marcel Sabitzer has won some reputation in the transfer market after a stunning couple of seasons in Germany.
RB Leipzig was phenomenal for the last few seasons in Europe and Julian Nagelsmann’s midfield dominance included one name for a better reason. The 25-year-old Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer decorated a crucial part in the top flight of Leipzig in Bundesliga as well as in the Champions League.
According to Todo Fichajes, Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea were tracking down the player for quite along. After the astonishing campaign of Leipzig on the European stage attracted more sides in the continent and RB Leipzig finally responded to the transfer talks.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were leading the transfer talks and the latest update from Germany says that the Austrian is not leaving the city this season as his contract ends in 2022. This closed down the rumors relating to the midfielder as the January window is active.
Sabitzer linked to Arsenal
The Gunners are not yet settled after the arrival of Mikel Arteta. The North London side is still struggling to keep the momentum within the top six of the league and the squad has got problems to resolve. They are into the transfer window with more hope as the team is out of top ten positions.
The season started off with the situation of Mesut Ozil has made a serious impact in the midfield and the politics is unsettled with the player as his exit is also speculated by the team. Arteta is hardly found a replacement in that position.
As per the reports of Goal, the German maestro is set to leave the club to Fenerbahce after a breakthrough in contract termination talks. This will add up some funds to Emirates to proceed with a deal in the January window.
The signing of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid will help the team with the position on the ball but his creativity is under question among the fans. Dani Ceballos also lacks consistency with the ball and Arteta thinks of Sabitzer as a convincing option in the midfield.
The Spaniard is out on a loan spell this season and Arsenal is not sure of the permanent deal for the Madrid player. Along with the young set of options in the midfield, Arteta should bring some experienced set of legs to find the balance.
Sabitzer also eyed by Chelsea
Frank Lampard has been made with the transfer market and Chelsea’s engagement in the January window is not sure as of now. Even though there has been plenty of names in the talks of West London, Stamford Bridge yet to tackle one from the window.
The midfield of Chelsea needs some experienced mind as Lampard is still looking for a winning combination in the midfield line. The Jorginho-kante duo is less preferred by the boss and a bunch of options are waiting on the bench.
The role of Mateo Kovacic is also met with a kind of dilemma as Mason Mount has been the key figure for Lampard’s formation. Setting a pair around Mount is the new challenge for Lampard and Sabitzer seems to be his secret wish in that option.
Chelsea is also looking for the creative options upfront as per the reports and another signing in the forward line is unlikely for Roman Abramovic. As the Sabitzer chapter is closed for now, the Blues will switch the plans for another available option.
