Real Madrid have reportedly agreed on a deal to sign Andre Silva of Porto.
The 21-year old forward has been on quite a run for FC Porto and has gained quite the reputation. The Portuguese has managed to net in an impressive number of more than 15 goals this season. Premier League giants Arsenal have also been reportedly also been looking to bag the services of the ace forward.
But, as with most stories of Arsenal transfers, another major club has managed to hijack the deal. Real Madrid have reportedly agreed terms with Porto to bring the forward to the Spanish capital. Real Madrid are ready to shell out a considerable €58 million for Andre Silva.
Real Madrid, for a while, have been looking to procure themselves a replacement for Karim Benzema. Perhaps, Andre Silva might be the perfect candidate for the position. Zinedine Zidane is reportedly very impressed by the striker’s phenomenal dribbling and finishing skills which have enabled him to become the hottest commodity in Latin America. Real Madrid scouts have only had tonnes of praise regarding the striker’s ability and attitude. Zidane reportedly has no reservations about splurging the cash this transfer window.
While Arsenal have also been in the transfer picture with Andre Silva, he has repeatedly declared his inclination towards joining the La Liga giants instead of the Gunners. This tips the scales for Real Madrid in a massive way.
Reports had surfaced earlier that Porto had rejected a €23 million bid from Arsenal as they had already accepted a bid from Real Madrid but due to the transfer ban placed on Real Madrid, the deal could not materialise. Madrid, however, look to complete the move by this summer and are ready to pay well over Arsenal’s valuation of the forward.
Andre Silva could be the key signing for Real Madrid as squad depth still remains quite the issue for Zinedine Zidane.
