Real Madrid has been very active in the transfer market and could yet witness more additions and possible departures.
Seemingly ready to bounce back from the setbacks endured last season, Real Madrid has already made their intentions very clear with some shrewd and much-anticipated signings so far.
The signing of Eden Hazard is arguably the best piece of business they have done so far in this transfer market. However, there could still be new additions to this squad as they look set to conquer again.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen is reportedly wanted by Real Madrid and the Spanish have, reports suggest, offered 45 million pounds and Dani Ceballos.
Now, according to reports in the Sun (via Daily Mail Online), Tottenham wants young superstar Marca Asensio as part of the deal. Eriksen is very much likely to be at Real Madrid at the start of the next season after he said ‘might want to try something new’.
The report adds that Zinedine Zidane does not want the club to sell Asensio, who has great potential to become a greater player. This comes as a stumbling block for Real Madrid in their pursuit for Eriksen, who would be a nice addition to Real Madrid’s star-studded midfield department,
The Danish international has been at Tottenham Hotspur since 2013 and have grown on to become a vital part of the squad. He played a pivotal role for the North London side this season as they reached the finals of UEFA Champions League.
The 27-year-old midfielder has featured in more than 250 matches for Tottenham Hotspur and scored more than 50 goals for the Premier League club. For Denmark, Eriksen has made 89 appearances and scored 27 goals.
It remains to be seen how Real Madrid deal with Tottenham in pursuit of the attacking midfielder.
Eriksen will most likely end up at Real Madrid. However, it is unlikely that Real Madrid will do that at the cost of Marco Asensio who is widely considered as one of the best players of his age. Signing Christian Eriksen will further bolster Real Madrid’s midfield and add depth to its squad.
