Real Madrid news: “It seems not so serious”: Carlo Ancelotti on Benzema’s injury
Speaking after the match, Ancelotti played down fears that Benzema and Militao’s injuries are serious.
“It seems not so serious, but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow. They are going to have a check, Benzema and Militao. It seems not so important,” Ancelotti said.
Meanwhile, the match between Real Madrid and Celtic was goalless in the first half. Real Madrid eventually scored their first goal of the match in the 56th minute.
Fede Valverde’s cross from the right picked out Vinicius Jr in the Celtic box and the Brazilian attacker duly finished to break the deadlock.
Real Madrid made it 2-0 just four minutes later with Modric scoring on the hour mark. Hazard won the ball in the middle of the park, and skipped away from one Celtic defender before laying the ball off to Modric. The Croatian midfielder then showed great composure to put the ball in the back of the net.
Real Madrid then established a three-goal cushion with Hazard adding his name to the scoresheet in the 77th minute. Toni Kroos sent a cross into the box and Dani Carvajal played it across the face of the goal and Hazard coolly slotted home to make it 3-0.
