Real Madrid News: Last week’s El Clasico was not very memorable for Real Madrid and their fans. But Los Blancos’ midfielder Toni Kroos suffered the worst as he was left injured by an Aubameyang tackle.

The 34-times LaLiga champions welcomed their famed rivals to the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday. Real Madrid had beaten their opponents in the last five El Clasico’s in all competitions. Hence they were the overwhelming favorites.

But Barcelona had a huge surprise up their sleeves. With Xavi Hernandez at the helm, the Blaugrana blew away their opponents with intricate attacking play and a sturdy defense. 

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, and Ronald Araujo found the back of the net as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4-0. This result took Xavi’s side to third place in the LaLiga table.

Toni Kroos was substituted from the El Clasico at halftime as Eduardo Camavinga replaced him. But as per the Mirror, the legendary Real Madrid midfielder was replaced as he needed stitches. 

The German midfielder suffered the injury after a challenge from Aubameyang as per the report. Following the tackle, the Real Madrid players wanted the referee to brandish a card, but the Barcelona striker escaped without any punishments. 

Toni Kroos confirmed the injury on his podcast with Mundo Deportivo. The Real Madrid midfielder said “I had a wound and they had to sew my tibia with three stitches. I saw that I was bleeding, but I didn’t notice it in the game.”

Real Madrid was trailing 2-0 at halftime and could have used their midfield maestro to show them the way. But with Kroos out of the game, Barcelona took the stronghold in the second half and added two more goals past Thibaut Courtois.

A bust-up took place between Toni Kroos and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Twitter in 2020. The topic of the bust-up was the Gabonese international goal celebrations that Toni Kroos didn’t like.

Aubameyang has been seen celebrating with a superhero mask on multiple occasions after scoring a goal. The striker also proceeds to dance with his teammates in a coordinated fashion on occasions. 

In 2020, Toni Kroos called these “rehearsed dances” silly and said that it was nonsense. The German midfielder was also not a big fan of the masks as he claimed that it is not what a “good role model” does.
Pierre-Emerick replied to this on Twitter saying, “I did it for my son a few times and I will do it again. I wish you have kids one day and make them happy like these Junior School pupils Talk and don’t Forget #maskon #staysafe”, hence ending the conversation.
