Real Madrid are closely monitoring the highly rated Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia and may come forward with an offer very soon.
Real Madrid are reportedly ‘monitoring’ Sevilla attacking midfielder Pablo Sarabia ahead of a potential swoop for the former Bernabeu youth player should either Isco or Luka Modric leaves the club in the coming weeks or months.
The 26-year-old came through Los Blancos’ academy system and made one appearance for the club’s senior side in 2009. Sarabia ultimately did not make the cut at the Bernabeu and was shipped out to neighbours Getafe, where his form earned him a switch to Sevilla two-and-a-half years ago.
It has been reported that the clubs closely monitoring the player’s situation is Real Madrid, according to AS. Los Blancos have a history of adding midfielders to their squad and creative players like Pablo Sarabia will always be welcome into the team. Moreover, his release clause of 18 million euros is cheap considering the inflated market at the moment.
The Spaniard has netted 15 goals this season for the Andalusian club and has been a model of consistency since joining from Getafe in a €1m deal back in 2016. Sarabia is now being linked with a call-up to the Spanish national side while his reported affordable release clause of €18m may be alerting a series of top clubs around Europe.
Sarabia could be a fine replacement for Luka Modric or Isco as they are linked to a move away from the Spanish capital. Isco’s future at the club has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks after an alleged fall out with manager Santiago Solari, while veteran star Modric was heavily linked with a high profile switch to Inter after last summer’s World Cup.
Author’s Take:
This could be a really good bargain for Los Blancos. Luka Modric is ageing and has also been linked with Inter Milan and Isco’s future at Real Madrid is under white lights at least until Santiago Solari is at the helm. Sarabia can be a very nice replacement for either player and his stats provide backing to that.
