Real Madrid are having one of the worsts season for two decades and with Julien Lopetegui sacked, things are going bad to worse as recent reports, revealed that a star is considering joining Juventus.
Real Madrid are having an unforgettable season. The European Champions are sitting seventh in La Liga this season. With Lopetegui sacked and no new manager replacing him it’s tough to say whether the Los Blancos will achieve any silverware this season. According to recent report, this Los Blancos star is considering quitting Madrid for Juventus.
Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is reportedly considering leaving the Santiago Bernabeu. The Costa Rican star is considering joining Serie A champions Juventus. According to Calciomercato, Navas is unhappy with summer signing Thibaut Courtois replacing him in the playing XI. The Belgian was preferred over Navas during the 5-1 loss to Barcelona. According to the report, the 31-year-old doesn’t trust interim coach Santiago Solari.
The 31-year-old is keen to move to Turin, the move could see him reunite with his former Cristiano Ronaldo. Navas joined Real Madrid from Levante in 2014 and has gone on to win La Liga and three UEFA Champions League titles with Los Blancos. Despite having so much success and trophies, Navas has never been widely recognised as one of the world’s elite goalkeepers.
Former manager Julen Lopetegui rotated between Navas and Courtois. However, new boss Solari appears to have prefer Courtois as his first choice. Navas now looks set for a season on the bench at Real Madrid. He did play in the Copa del Rey first-leg win over Melilla, but that seems to be the only competition he will feature in unless Courtois picks up an injury. The Costa Rican may be unwilling to play second fiddle at Real Madrid for long.
It would be interesting to see whether Juventus are keen to lure Navas. The Old Lady already have two young goalkeepers and won’t be looking to add one more goalkeeper. So far Navas didn’t say publicly that he is unhappy or unsettled at the Bernabeu. For this moment, Navas should consider staying at Madrid.
