Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi has been linked with a countless number of clubs, and according to his wife and agent Wanda Nara, he’s worth at least €200 million if not more.
The Argentine striker has been in incredible form and has captained Inter Milan to an unbeaten start in the Serie A. With 15 goals in just 14 matches, Mauro Icardi has fired the other San Siro club into Scudetto contention, as they sit two points ahead of Juventus and two points behind leaders Napoli, having won 11 out of their 14 matches.
While the 24-year-old has only made three appearances for Argentine after his controversy surrounding his team-mate Maxi Lopez, he’s still being courted by the likes Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and even Chelsea. However, Icardi does have a release clause of £98 million inserted into the contract he signed in August of 2016, his wife and agent Wanda Nara believes that he’s worth a lot more.
In an interview with Corriere Dello Sport, she said “Mauro is an important player and these are top clubs who have been following him for some time,” she said. “It’s right that such an attacker, one of the most important number nines in the world, has big clubs who care about him and consider him for what he is worth.
I prefer not to tell you who is calling me. It is I who talk about these things while Mauro thinks of Inter and is happy to be here. [The board] know that he has rejected teams that other players would not refuse because he has in his heart the Nerazzurri colors. I do not deny that there are many teams interested in him – much more than are being said.”
This season, however, has seen Mauro Icardi reach new levels, and according to Squawka, the 24-year-old has a better conversion rate than the likes of Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah, the top scorers in Europe’s big leagues. Which has led wife and agent Wanda Nara to further add, “It is true that prices in the last summer market have gone crazy compared to August 2016 [when Icardi signed his current five-year deal at Inter] and that Mauro has always improved over the years.
You will see that he will still do it because no one, even him, knows his limits.”
The Inter Milan captain is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football ever since his breakout 14/15 season, although many argue that it was his 13/14 season that got him noticed. Icardi scored 22 goals in 36 appearances in 2014/15 Serie A and has since then gone on to become the Nerazzurri numero uno striker. If Real Madrid somehow manages to convince Mauro Icardi to join, their front-line will become incredibly lethal but as to whether or not they’ll pay €200 million, is a question that needs to be answered first.
