Arsenal under Mikel Arteta has shown promising signs. The Gunners in the current financial crises gave the Spaniard four new players as well. Thomas Partey, Gabriel, Willian, and Runar Alex Runarsson arrived at Emirates this summer.
While Partey and Gabriel have been impressive, Willian is yet to find his feet. The Brazilian made an excellent start to his Arsenal career but his early form has faded away. Runar Alex Runarsson has only made one appearance in the Europa League. Thus the club could make additions in January as well.
According to Spanish outlet El Confidencial via Sports Witness, Los Blancos want Gunners to enter the race for Isco. Everton is interested in signing the Spaniard. They are also willing to offer $20 million. Isco played under current Everton manager Ancelloti at Real Madrid.
While Zinedine Zidane is ready to let the former Valencia midfielder leave the club. He has only made three La Liga appearances and he hasn’t even played a single minute in the Champions League. Isco’s contract with Real Madrid expires in 2022.
No deal for Christian Eriksen
According to Inside Futbol Gunners are interested in RB Salzburg Dominik Szoboszlai. They are also monitoring Lyon’s Houssem Aouar. It is indicative that the London giants don’t really fancy a move for Christian Eriksen.
The Dane spent seven years with Arsenal arch-rivals Tottenham. He left the Premier League ten months ago for Inter Milan. However, things haven’t gone as per plan for the former Ajax star.
He is not getting regular playing time at San Siro. Some have also suggested Antonio Conte’s style of play is not suited to him. Eriksen has only started 15 games for the Nerazzurri.
Out of these 15 starts four have come this season. He was also linked with a move to PSG as well. However given that Arsenal is being linked to other players, it seems unlikely they will make a move for Eriksen.
Arsenal interested in former Manchester City starlet
Mikel Arteta wants to bring in more young players into the first team. Arsenal’s search for talented young players has led them to Hertha Berlin defender Omar Rekik. The 18 years old came through Manchester City youth ranks.
The Premier League giants were close to signing him this summer as well. However, they could not get the deal done in time. According to Football London, Arsenal will loan him back to Hertha in January.
He will become an Arsenal player in January 2021 but he will join the club in the summer of 2021. Club legend Per Mertesacker is spearheading the youth recruitment at the Emirates now.
Arsenal’s defense has been a big problem for them in recent years. Gabriel’s arrival has brought some positivity but they still need more. Last season they also signed William Saliba from Saint-Étienne.
