Real Madrid want to complete a stunning swap deal

The football world can get as crazy as one would imagine. Real Madrid are now being tipped to complete a humongous swap deal which could be done by January!

Real Madrid are expected to have a busy transfer period in the winter as they look to sign somebody who can get them the goals. The Whites have endured a torrid start in La Liga and been inconsistent in front of goal since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus and are looking to replace him in January.’

It has now been reported that they will turn to Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi as Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement. While formulating the deal, the Whites will be ready to offer a price of 40 million pounds in addition to their midfield talisman Luka Modric to the Serie A giants. Modric was linked with a move to Italy this summer but rubbished the claims.

However, after a run of five winless matches, it is fair to say that Real Madrid are in a state of crisis and Luka Modric is fed up with Julen Lopetegui and the lack of transfer activity which Madrid facilitated in the summer after Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit. As a result, he is open to the idea of leaving with Inter Milan showing serious interest.

Meanwhile, Mauro Icardi was also linked with a transfer to Real Madrid this year and insisted that he did think about leaving Inter. However, he later said that Milan is his home and he wouldn’t leave the San Siro so soon. But if Real Madrid come knocking on the door again, Icardi might be tempted to move.

Author’s Take

While these are only the preliminary rumours, Real Madrid would have taken a pathetic decision by letting Luka Modric go and offer cash in addition. Even at 33, the Croatia international is their primary player. But they must break the bank for Icardi who is so active in the box and can get the goals.
