After a brilliant 2016 for Cristiano Ronaldo, in which the veteran Portuguese won the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid, the UEFA Euro 2016 with Portugal and ultimately won the UEFA Best Player Award of 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo was rated as the best player in FIFA 17 for the very first time.
EA Sports announced the top 50 players in FIFA 17 which had plenty of surprises including Chelsea star, Eden Hazard being rated higher than Barcelona maestro, Andres Iniesta. James Rodriguez who was restricted to the bench of Real Madrid under new manager Zinedine Zidane also somehow got to the 45th position with a rating of 87.
Lionel Messi, is ofcourse, on the 2nd spot losing out the 1st spot to his Real Madrid rival, Ronaldo. Lionel Messi’s teammates Neymar (ranked 3rd), and Luis Suarez (ranked 4th) formed the top 4 of FIFA 17. Bayern and Germany shot-stopper, Manuel Neuer finished 5th with a rating of 92.
Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David De Gea, and Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng and Robert Lewandowski formed the lower 5 of the top 10 FIFA 17 players.
Bayern Munich ended with nine players in the top 50 to lead all the clubs while Spanish giants, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona had eight and six players in the top 50 respectively.
After an impressive last season with West Ham United and France, Dimitri Payet earned a place in the top 50, ranked 47 in the list. Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer was the highest rated goalkeeper with a rating of 92 while Jerome Boateng was the highest rated defender with a rating of 90. The highest rated midfielder, was the Arsenal Assist King, Mesut Ozil ranked 12th with a rating of 89.
