Real Madrid’s leader Sergio Ramos could miss the all-important clash against Barcelona after Madrid derby allegations.
The Wanda Metropolitano hosted Madrid Derby game last week in which Real Madrid played out a dull draw against Atletico Madrid. Sergio Ramos managed to steal the headlines after a small incident in the derby.
The incident was between match referee and Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos. Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone was left fuming after overhearing Ramos insult over assistant referee Gonzalez Gonzalez.
However, this incident was not reported to La Liga bosses by the referee. But it will be overlooked by officials if condemned by Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid is leading the points table with 15 points after playing out a draw against Atletico Madrid, who are placed at third place with 14 points. If Atletico denounces the action of Sergio Ramos, then the defender might face a ban for four matches.
A player will be banned for four matches if found guilty of abusing an official during the game. This means Sergio Ramos could miss four games, which includes all important El Clasico game against Barcelona. The two Spanish giants will play against each other in Camp Nou on 26th October.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have not got the best of starts in this season. Madrid is yet to face a defeat in this season but they failed to secure a win against Villarreal and Valladolid. While Catalan giants have lost two games already in their seven games.
Ramos missing El Clasico will be a huge absentee considering his experience in terms of Clasico appearances. Diego Costa of Atletico Madrid was last banned for abusing an official during the game.
Former Chelsea forward was sent off during the first half against FC Barcelona last season which ended 2-0 in favour of the Catalans. Deigo Costa was charged with 8 match ban following his foul language against Spanish referee Jeses Gil Manzano. Hence, Ramos absence in the El Clasico will be a big miss for a neutral fan as well.
