Famous English pundit and former professional footballer Jamie Redknapp has stated that Chelsea fans should view Hazard as one of the club’s greatest players, even though he is destined to join Real Madrid.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2012 from Ligue 1 outfit Lille, Hazard has amassed 87 goals in 284 appearances for Chelsea, having won two Premier League titles, a League Cup and one UEFA Europa League.
In this tough season for Antonio Conte, Hazard has been the stand-out player for Chelsea netting 15 times and notching up four assists attracting interest from the European champions Real Madrid. And Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of the 27-year-old Belgian, who could be the possible heir to Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.
But football pundit Jamie Redknapp believes that Hazard should be seen as one of Chelsea’s greatest superstars according to the Stamford Bridge faithful, categorizing him under the likes of Frank Lampard, John Terry, and Didier Drogba, despite a chance that Hazard could move to the Santiago Bernabeu in his prime.
The star winger scored twice in a brilliant performance against West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge and continued his amazing run of form for Chelsea. But La Liga giants Real Madrid will be plotting a move for Hazard in the next transfer window and the Spanish champions have a good chance of landing him as they look to rebuild their squad for the next campaign.

Son of football manager Harry Redknapp, Jamie spoke on Sky Sports stating, ‘‘His levels are so high. I don’t know what the future of Eden Hazard will be. But I think the Chelsea fans – once he’s gone – will put him as one of the greats, alongside John Terry and Frank Lampard. He’s been amazing for English football. I do fear that he leaves in the summer, I have a feeling that Real Madrid will come in for him. You’re looking at a player who’s producing special moments every time he gets on the field – he’s at that level now.’’
I think Hazard is arguably one of the best attackers’s in the world at the moment and is extremely dangerous for opposing defenders, but I don’t think he can be compared to the likes of Terry and Lampard as the two Englishmen stuck with Chelsea till their late thirties, spending close to two decades at the club.
