Real Madrid were given a heavy blow when they lost Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo but could this £120 million-rated striker the one they are looking for?
According to reports in Spain, Juventus forward Paulo Dybala wants a move to the Bernabeu. If the report is to be believed, the Argentine attacker has felt threatened after Ronaldo’s arrival at the Serie A club took all the spotlight away from him and has decided to leave the club.
The 24-year-old was previously targeted by Barcelona, where he had the scope of uniting with fellow countryman Lionel Messi, but it is said that the Blaugrana are no longer interested in the star.
Real Madrid defeated Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League finals to retain the title for the second time in a row and things seemed to be good for Los Blancos. However things took a wild turn on 31st of May when the club manager Zinedine Zidane announced that he has decided to step down from his role.
Things went from bad to worse for the Real Madrid faithful as a news that everyone thought to be just a speculation came true on the 10th of July. After nine long years at the club, Cristiano Ronaldo swapped the Bernabeu side for Serie A champions Juventus.
Although the side appointed Julien Lopetegui as their new manager, their activity in the transfer market was low. There were no remarkable signings nor a replacement for Ronaldo. On the other hand, the Madrid club’s arch rivals Barcelona enjoyed a great transfer window.
With the commencement of the season, Real Madrid didn’t look extremely weakened by the lose of their star player as they won all of their three league games this season comfortably. However, there is still a worrying atmosphere at the club due the fear that the absence of Ronaldo could cost them at any time.
Real Madrid need a new Galactico to bring back the sense of confidence in the side and Dybala could be the one they are looking for.
It is evident that Ronaldo has took a big chunk of the spotlight away from Dybala and it might not take long before the Argentine forward feels like Neymar did at Barcelona. The 24-year-old soon might look to move away from the shadow of Ronaldo and Real Madrid is definitely a possible destination.
