Santiago Solari, who was recently appointed as Real Madrid’s permanent coach after he impressed as an interim coach, has steadied Real Madrid and the team will now be looking to bolster their squad in the upcoming Winter Transfer Window.
According to Marca, Atletico Madrid’s French International, Lucas Hernandez, who was part of the World Cup winning France squad, could be on his way to join Real Madrid in the upcoming January Transfer Window. They, Marca, list Lucas Hernandez, along with Espanyol Central-Defender Mario Hermoso, in the list of possible transfer moves, with Santiago Solari wanting to improve his squad.
Lucas Hernandez, 22, played for France in all of their FIFA World Cup matches and was crucial to their success as he maintained defensive solidity throughout the competition. Meanwhile, Mario Hermoso is a Real Madrid academy product who has played for the likes of their C and B teams before to moving Espanyol. However, reports suggest that Real Madrid will only have to pay £7million to secure the services of Hermoso, while others will have to pay his release clause £35million.
Nevertheless, it is not the situation with Lucas Hernandez, who plays for Real Madrid’s arch-rivals Atletico Madrid. Hernandez, with his performance for star-studded France in the FIFA World Cup, has impressed one and all, and Real Madrid will have to splash the cash, £70million reportedly, to sign the 22-year-old full-back. Hernandez has also attracted interests from a few English Premier League clubs, reports suggest. It remains to be seen what Atletico Madrid will be planning to keep hold of their defender, who has a bright future.
Real Madrid will be looking to sign these players to bolster their defensive department, which needs reconstruction. Apart from these two aforementioned names, Real Madrid will have already targetted numerous others players who could make it big with their club.
Real Madrid have not yet filled the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus last summer, and they have suffered its consequences this season, with forward failing to do what Cristiano Ronaldo did during his 9-year spell with Real Madrid. Hence, they may also be looking at possible options to bolster their attacking department.
