Revealed: Man City boss Pep Guardiola has banned his players from doing this Premier League title chase

The Premier League champions are in the F.A Cup final and want to win the quadruple.

As the Premier League season comes to end, the title race has got more and more unpredictable. Both the teams look in no mood of dropping points and show no signs of nervousness. Liverpool are sitting at top of the Premier League but have played a game more than City.

Both the teams are looking to progress further in Champions League and are hoping to stay fit as the business period of the season begins. With six games deciding the Premier League title, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has banned his players from doing this in order to win the quadruple.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has banned his players from drinking booze. Pep Guardiola wants his quadruple chasing players to remain booze free.

The former Bayern boss revealed there was not ‘one drop of celebration’ as his side defeated Bright & Hove Albion to reach the final of the F.A Cup. Gabriel Jesus’s early strike helped City reach the final in what appeared to be anervy final.

After the game Pep Guardiola said, “It’s really good but we don’t have too much time to tell ourselves ‘Oh, it’s so good. How nice is everything’. The only focus right now is: Don’t drink one drop of beer or alcohol. Rest, eat good, regeneration the day after tomorrow and prepare the game against one of the best teams in all terms in the Premier League and Europe when they had six days to prepare and we had two-and-a-half. Yeah, we won 22 of the last 23 so it’s not bad. Of course, if we want to be in contention in all competitions you have to make these kind of numbers. It’s the same with Liverpool in the Premier League.”

Manchester City will play twice in a week till the end of the April. The Premier League champions face Tottenham Hotspur in Champions League quarter finals tomorrow and Guardiola said big clubs copes with the problem as business end of the season approaches.

Guardiola said, “The big clubs are what count in these situations: not complaining. Saturday was so tough for many reasons – for many, many reasons – and we overcame it. The players know what I mean and that is the point. The big clubs don’t go there, and here or whatever saying ‘no, we lose for that (reason)’, or ‘we didn’t play for that (reason)’. We know the reason we didn’t play quite excellent, we know it and the situation is a tough situation we have.”

Author’s Take:

Guardiola is determined to win the Premier League. The Spaniard knows one mistake here can cost them the Premier League. City have been in top of the Premier League for majority of the season and would like to end the season as champions.
