The Los Blancos were desperate to bring in a replacement for the ageing Cristiano Ronaldo last season and it has been revealed that Real Madrid did make a €217 million offer for a PSG superstar.
The year is 2017 and Real Madrid realises that Cristiano Ronaldo may not be able to be their superstar forever, as they and Florentino Perez hoped he would. So, as a result, the Los Blancos need to find a replacement and they did, two superstars in fact. However, while no move eventually materialized that season, it has been revealed that Real Madrid did, in fact, make a €214 million offer for a PSG star.
Kylian Mbappe has been ruling the world lately and as if that wasn’t enough he has incredible for the Ligue 1 giants, both last season and even this season despite all the pressure on his shoulders. In the 2016/17 season, Kylian Mbappe helped Monaco to a Ligue 1 title outdoing PSG in the process in what was a rather exquisite break out season. With 21 goals and a further 14 assists, the then 18-year-old was a crucial cog in Leonardo Jardim’s Monaco machine before a move to PSG beckoned.
But before PSG came chasing after him, Marca have revealed and it has been now confirmed by leaked documents, that Real Madrid made a 214 million offer for the teen superstar. That includes a €180 million transfer fee plus an extra €34 million to cover the tax payment. But with PSG also in the race for the 18-year-old, AS Monaco were hesitant at selling to a direct rival and thus told the Parisians to match the price, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The France international has been instrumental for PSG and has gone on to win his second Ligue title, all the while helping the Parisians re-dominated France. In the process, however, the youngster has gone on to score 21 goals and create a further 17 assists for his attacking partners. That combined with his incredible performance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, has sent his name and popularity into the stratosphere.
Kylian Mbappe is a very exciting youngster to watch playing football. His pace, trickery, ability in front of goal all bares a striking resemblance to Thierry Henry. But while Henry decided to move to England to improve himself, Mbappe has stuck to a plan that he created as a youngster, one that he believes, would have him one day sitting on the throne of world football.
