RR VS GT: The stage is all set for the first qualifiers of the 2022 IPL. The first qualifiers of the playoff stage will be played in Eden Gardens between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans. Titans finished at number one position with 10 wins and Rajasthan at second with 9 wins.
Both the teams have had a brilliant journey this season. Winning most of their matches and all their players performing collectively, both the teams are ready to face each other in the first qualifiers.
Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals in the previous encounter during the league stage matches. However, Gujarat Titans performance in the previous couple of games has been disappointing.
Rajasthan Royals have won their last game and Gujarat lost their last game by a huge margin. This may be a point of concern for Gujarat, as they have only won two out of their previous 5 matches.
RR VS GT: IPL journey of both the teams so far
Gujarat Titans are playing their inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. They were not considered a strong squad and did not think they would come this far. Gujarat impressed everyone with its performance throughout the season.
Titans finished first on the points table with 10 wins out of 14 games and were the first to qualify for the playoffs. Have a three out of their four defeats came from the last 5 matches.
Rajasthan Royals finished second in the points table and they won 9 out of the 14 matches. They have a very strong team and are in very good form and which we saw in the previous match.
Looking at both the team’s performance, Former Indian Cricketer Mohammad Kaif said, “RR is peaking at the right time. They are learning to win matches even without major contributions from Jos Buttler. It’s a big thing for them. GT’s performances have gone down in recent times. They have lost three of their last five games, two of which have been big defeats, by eight wickets. Gujarat has lost some momentum.”
Chahal and Buttler are very crucial factor for Rajasthan
Rajasthan Royals have the orange cap holder Jose butler and the purple cap holder Yuzvendra Chahal in their team. Butler, however, is not informed from the past few matches and will look forward to gaining momentum in this crucial game.
Chahal however is killing with his bowling and along with Ashwin, both can do wonders on the pitch with their spin. Ashwin is a very experienced player and can bat as well.
Trent Boult is also lethal with his pace. He has picked 13 wickets this season and with all these bowlers, Rajasthan’s Bowling attack looks very fierce. This will be a very interesting encounter and will also give us our first finalist of the 2022 IPL.
