La Liga giants FC Barcelona have been offered a chance to sign Portuguese International Ruben Neves in the next Summer Window.
Ruben Neves joined the academy of Portuguese Giants Porto at a very early age. The midfielder then soon rose through the ranks and graduated from the Porto academy.
Upon his promotion to the first team, Ruben Neves soon cemented his spot in the starting line-up. Neves became the youngest Porto player to score a goal in the Primeira Liga. He then became the youngest-ever player to captain a side in the UEFA Champions league. Neves played three seasons for Porto.
Finally, in 2017, the Portuguese midfielder joined the Championship side of Wolverhampton Wanderers. In his first season with the club, he helped Wolves to win the Championship and qualify for the English Premier League. Since then he has made over 200 appearances for Wolves and is one of the mainstays in their squad.
Barcelona offered Busquets replacement
Soon to be 35 Sergio Busquets has served Barcelona for over a decade. His contribution to the Catalan side is unmeasurable and he is still a very important part of them.
Busquets’ contract however is going to expire at the end of this season. The Spaniard who is already past his prime does not want to continue at the club and will leave in next summer.
So Barcelona is already looking for players who can replace the Spaniard at Camp Nou. And the name that has been linked most is Spanish midfielder Martin Zubiemendi.
The Spaniard however recently extended his contract with Real Sociedad. Although he has a €60 million release clause, a transfer for Zubimendi is looking very tough at this moment.
Now according to Mundo Deportivo, super agent Jorge Mendes has offered Barcelona a chance to sign Ruben Neves the next summer.
Neves’ contract in Wolverhampton is coming to an end in 2024 and if a good offer arrives, Wolves will be ready to sell the midfielder.
Earlier, Barcelona was rumoured to sign the midfielder the last summer. A deal however never happened due to the high price of the midfielder.
English Premier League giants Arsenal were also heavily linked with Neves last summer. Similar to Barcelona, they did not want to pay the amount Wolves asked.
The Gunners will once look to sign the midfielder next summer. So if Barcelona wants to acquire the signings of the Portuguese international, they will have to move fast.
Ruben Neves is going to represent Portugal in the next Qatar World Cup 2022. Any good performance in the perennial event will only rise his stocks.
