Andre Russell has clearly not been up to his best with the bat so far. Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder who is well-known for clearing the balls out of park struggled to hit sixes this season. He has only four sixes in 5 games in the United Arab Emirates.

Last season, Russell was the highlight of KKR. He hit as many as 52 sixes to his name in 14 games. However, this season has been a slew of frustrations and disappointments. The West Indies international is yet to announce his arrival for the two-time IPL champions.

Leave sixes aside, Andre Russell hit only three fours to his name. Even though the Caribbean has been given sufficient time to up the ante, he failed to make his presence count. As a result, he was on the receiving end of trolls for his below-par batting display.

The Caribbean managed to score just 50 runs in 5 games, at the worst average of 12.50. His best score is 24. Even though he was striking the balls in excess of 135, he couldn’t hunker himself at the crease for a long time.

Despite failing to score runs with the bat, Russell did justice with the ball. The all-rounder managed to live up to his reputation in terms of bowling. He picked 5 wickets in 5 games, registering his best bowling figures of 2/29.

Fan trolls Andre Russell; Caribbean’s wife hits back:

Nowadays, fans are using social media ineffectively especially after cricketers’ poor display in the game. At times, fans are crossing their limits by tagging cricketers’ wives on social media platforms, which is clearly not acceptable by any means.

In the wake of batting failures, one of the fans tried to take a swipe at Russell’s current form involving his wife Jassym Lora. After going through Andre Russell’s present batting form, a fan came up with a strange comment on Jassym Lora’s latest Instagram post.

The majority of the players have not accompanied their families due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Jassym Lora who was seen supporting Andre Russell in earlier seasons of the IPL couldn’t travel with Russell given the current circumstances.

The fan wrote: “Jassym aunty please go to Dubai Russell is not in good form”. The comment was surely in bad taste and Jassym didn’t entertain the comment. Russell’s wife who came across the tweet came up with a fitting reply to the troll. She wrote: “He’s in the best form..”
