Russian Hooligans warn England fans over 2018 World Cup violence
The next instalment of the FIFA World Cup is less than 18 moths away. World Cup qualifiers are in full flow and teams from around the world are vying for a place in the tournament. Meanwhile, the fans are preparing themselves for the football extravaganza. Russian hooligans warned English fans over violence in the stands during the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Several hooligans have voiced the fact that they are ready for the fights that are “100 percent guaranteed” to happen during the World Cup.

Statements by various Hooligans
Several hooligans have made statements regarding the violence in the 2016 Euros and 2018 World Cup.
“Vasily the Killer” was quoted in Guardian saying “They were special military forces of football hooligans sent by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to conquer Europe.”
Denis, the leader of the ‘Orel Butchers’ group believes that Russians have an upper hand over the English. He said, “There is some street-fight tactics that we obviously exercised a lot of times fighting in the cities”. He added “They can come over and we’ll see. Somebody will obviously try to do something, that is like 100 percent — 100 percent guaranteed.”

An anonymous hooligan called the English the forefathers of hooliganism. He said “For some, it will be a festival of football, for others, it will be a festival of violence. Our opponents are naturally the English because they are the forefathers of hooliganism and naturally they are always awaited.”
How it affects the casual fans?
Hooliganism is a condemned a part of the game. No one in their sane mind likes violence. Instances of hooliganism have always scarred the prestige of a tournament. As recently as the Euros 2016, fans of these two teams clashed at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille. The clashes began a few days back in the streets and reached the stadiums during the 1-1 draw between the two countries. World Cup is the biggest football tournament. People wait four years for the tournament and for it marred by cases of hooliganism is unfortunate and unnecessary. Extreme cases of hooliganism have resulted in serious and fatal injuries. Let’s hope that these threats remain threats only and no actual act of hooliganism takes place during the summer of 2018.
