SA vs BAN LIVE: South Africa have once again proved why they are one of the top sides in the T20I format. Proteas registered their 10th win in the last 11 games in the shortest circuit.

They only lost to Australia in their opening fixture of the tournament. Apart from that, they racked up wins against West Indies, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, respectively.

Proteas have won three games on the trot. Currently, they are placed second in the Group 1 points table with a Net Run Rate of +0.742. On the other hand, Bangladesh are placed at the bottom of the points table.

The Bengal Tigers have played four games, and they have lost all four of them at a Net Run Rate of -1.435. In fact, Bangladesh are the only team in Group 1 that are yet to win a game in the Super 12 stage.

Talking about the game, South African bowlers ran riot as they ripped through the defence of Bangladesh batsmen. Bangladesh were bowled out for just 84 in 18.2 overs.

Mahedi Hasan top-scored with 27 off 25 balls whereas Liton Das scored 24 off 36 balls. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje bowled really well as they took 3 wickets each.

Apart from them, Tabraiz Shamsi continued his good form as he took 2 wickets. “Ya, it was a good day for us. Obviously, the conditions were good for the pacers,” he added in a statement.

“Good effort with the ball, then clinical with the bat I would say. Excites us to have KG and Nortje bowling in such conditions, reminds us of playing at home,” Temba Bavuma added.

“Blessed to have both of them in our side. One guy is touching 150, the other guy has all the skills and bowls high-speeds too. We wanted to get the score in a good time,” he added.

“It was tricky because it was still nipping around when I went in. Big game. England… we need to play our best cricket. They have had the better of us of late. We would like to make amends,” the skipper added.

Rabada was named the Player of the Match. He took 3/20 in 4 overs. “The wicket obviously favoured the seamers and I am just glad that today was my day,” Rabada added.

“Every time we had the opportunity to practice, we try and implement whatever could work for us. We always train hard and today it paid off. It’s nice to see some swing again especially in the T20 format,” the pacer added.
