SA vs IND LIVE: A team can be more threatening and powerful if all the players co-operate together and chip in with collective performance. This is a very important thing on the path to becoming a successful team.
More importantly, the players should maintain good vibes in the dressing room. This has a good effect on the minds of the players and the team that is gunning for success. Meanwhile, it appears that things are not going well in the Indian dressing room.
A lot of major changes took place in Indian cricket of late. The 33-year-old Virat Kohli has been relieved of captaincy duties across formats. Rohit Sharma is now leading the Indian cricket team in ODIs and T20Is.
Kohli recently stepped down as Test captain and the BCCI is yet to name the Test captain. Rohit is the obvious choice for the new captain but the decision is not yet confirmed. Earlier, there were reports claiming that there was a misunderstanding between the earlier caption Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
However, the two cricketers have always maintained that there is no rift between them. Time and again, Virat Kohli put all those widespread speculations to rest by saying that everything is just fine between him and Rohit.
Meanwhile, some are claiming that the Indian cricket dressing room is split into two groups and that there is a possible rift between India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul and former Indian Virat Kohli.
SA vs IND LIVE: Danish Kaneria feels the Indian dressing room is divided
Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has been in the headlines of late for his bold and straightforward opinions. Recently, he claimed that there is “unrest” in the Indian dressing room.
The former spinner also claimed that Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were not on good terms with each other. He further added that both the stalwarts were sitting apart from each other in the dressing room.
Kaneria’s comments came ahead of the ongoing second ODI match between South Africa and India. “We saw that the Indian dressing room was divided into two groups. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were sitting apart,” he added.
Kaneria feels that Kohli is not in the same mood as he used to be when he was the skipper. “Also, Kohli wasn’t in the same mood as he used to be when he was the captain. But he’s a team man and will come back stronger,” the former spinner expressed his comments in a video on his YouTube channel.
Earlier, Team India lost the Test series against South Africa by 2-1. After that, India lost the ODI opener by 31 runs at Boland Park. Kaneria feels that India would be looking forward to making a comeback in the ODI series.
“After losing the Test series, India would be eager to redeem themselves and clinch the ODI rubber,” the former spinner added. Talking about the second ODI, India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first at Boland Park, Paarl.
