The Indian Premier League is the most-watched domestic cricket tournament in the world. Several successful stars play in the league to entertain the fans at the best scene.
It has been twelve seasons since the tournament started and the biggest sporting festival never lost its sheen so far.
Taking a cue from the IPL, many countries started organizing their own domestic leagues. Pakistan Super League was founded in the year 2015.
Then slowly, West Indies and Bangladesh hosted their leagues successfully. Now, Sri Lanka is all set to organize their own league next month.
Sri Lanka Cricket is making sure that their local players get plenty of opportunities. The domestic tournament brings the best out of players as they can showcase their mettle and earn opportunities to play for the national cricket team in the future.
Ever since the retirement of legends like Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Sri Lanka is not the same as before. However, it is important for the national selectors to spot the right talents and make them grow in their space in a bid to reach greater heights.
