Sergio Ramos voted for Liverpool star in FIFA Best award

Liverpool fans will be dejected after their star players missed out on the Best men’s player award in Milan, but they’ll be shocked to hear that Real Madrid and Spain skipper Sergio Ramos was on their side.

Lionel Messi won the Best men’s player award at Milan, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil Van Djik missed out.

Sergio Ramos has been a regular in FIFAPro World XI and there isn’t better combination than this. Sergio Ramos was also accompanied with fellow team-mates Marcelo and Luka Modric.

However, there were many eyebrows raised for not having players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Aymeric Laporte in FIFAPro World XI has left many fans around the world baffled. Sergio Ramos and his co finished third in La Liga last season without winning any trophy.

Apart from this, Ramos vote has also raised a few eyebrows around the world. He has voted for his fellow team-mate Eden Hazard as his number one choice – Cristiano Ronaldo as number two choice. The third one was little surprising for everyone as he went with Egyptian Mohamed Salah, as per FIFA official resources.

Each and every Liverpool fan would remember the incident happened between Ramos and Salah back in 2018 Champions League final. We know that they both aren’t greatest of friends and even Salah declaring that he hasn’t forgiven the actions of Ramos in Kiev.

Liverpool’s star did receive votes from Marek Hamsik (Slovakia) and Stefan Savic (Montenegro). Both the skippers ranked him as their number one choices. Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson Becker was adjudged Best Goalkeeper, while Jurgen Klopp won the Best Manager award in Milan.

But despite Liverpool’s Van Djik being favourite to win the Best player award Lionel Messi won the honor. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t turn up for the event in Milan and didn’t have Messi in his choices as well. He went on with De Ligt as his number one – followed by Frenkie De Jong and Kylian Mbappe.

Messi had Liverpool’s Sadio Mane as his first choice – followed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Frenkie De Jong.
