Shanghai SIPG make world-record bid for Bundesliga star

Chinese club Shanghai SIPG have made a sensational bid of £127m to sign Borussia Dortmund striker.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has emerged as a transfer target for Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG. It is reported that they have made a world-record bid of £127m to sign this Gabon international.

The AS reports that Shanghai SIPG are ready to pay Aubameyang an annual salary of 41 million euros which will make him the best-paid player in the world. Recently another Chinese club bought Carlos Tevez and the Argentina striker is paid an annual salary of 38 million euros.

Aubameyang is currently one of the best strikers in the world, and the Dortmund star himself has revealed his wish about playing for Real Madrid in future. But the latest news suggests that the 27-year-old striker is one of primary transfer target for Shanghai SIPG.

He joined Dortmund in 2013 and has established himself into a world-class striker. In his fourth season at the German club, he has scored 100 goals for Dortmund. He has already found the net 22 times from 21 outings in Bundesliga this season.

At many occasions, Aubameyang has accepted that he wishes to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid in future. But till now the European champions haven’t shown any strong interest for him.

Recently, former German star Lothar Matthaus said that Aubameyang is a player who can make the difference in any team. He also said that Dortmund striker is worth at least €150 million.

“If a player like Pogba is worth €105 million, then Aubameyang is worth €150 million. He is a player that makes the difference, unlike Pogba” Matthaus told Bild.

The latest enquiry from Chinese club suggests that they are interested in signing Aubameyang for a world-record fee. The likes of Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Ramires, Pelle, Paulinho, Hulk and Alex Teixeira have all moved to China for such massive transfer fees.

Shanghai SIPG manager Andre Villas-Boas was confident when he signed his former player Oscar from Chelsea for a fee around £60m. It is very much clear that these clubs aren’t hesitated in bringing the quality players to China.

With the likes of Hulk & Oscar in Shanghai SIPG, adding Aubameyang to their team will definitely make them the most powerful in the league. In addition to that, signing such world-class players will also boost the growth of football in China.
