Arsenal are reportedly ready to allow their very own Jack Wilshere to join AC Milan on free transfer.
The Gunners have 2 goal advantage going into the second leg of Europa League round of 16 against AC Milan. But the Italian club reportedly has an advantage in the transfer market for the signing of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
The Englishman is currently in last 4 months of his contract and is yet to sign a new contract. Wilshere is reportedly unhappy with Arsenal’s new offer of 25% pay-cut which will see him earning £90,000 opposed to the current £120,000 salary.
AC Milan to swoop in for free-transfer?
Arsenal board’s inability to seal Wilshere’s future has given AC Milan a chance to sign the player for free. According to the reports in Express, the Milan board was impressed with the midfielder’s performance at San Siro last week. Rossoneri are now planning to sign the player on a free transfer. Milan’s Serie A rivals Juventus and Sampdoria are also in the race for Wilshere.
Jack Wilshere has been a Gunner since his childhood. The player was tagged as the “next big thing for England” in his early Arsenal days. But Wilshere’s career failed to take off due to injuries. The 26-year old has now fully recovered and has been in a good form for the Gunners. Wilshere scored his first Premier League goal in two and a half years against Chelsea in a 2-2 draw.

The Englishman’s string of good performances in both England and Europe has given him a chance to revive his Arsenal career. But if AC Milan can approach the player before Wilshere finalizes the contract with the Gunners, Wenger will lose a player, he has developed for the past 7-8 years.
Arsenal will face Milan on Thursday where they will look to seal the tie and progress in the quarter-finals on Europa League.
Despite his injuries and rough patches, Jack Wilshere is a great player and no one can deny that. His vision and accurate passing make him a treat to watch in the midfield. It will be a huge loss for the Gunners if they lose a player with Arsenal DNA in him. On the other hands, Gattuso will be thrilled if he can sign someone like Wilshere for free.
