Shocking: Barcelona forward fined whooping €10000 for his Misconduct.

The Catalan superstar has been heavily fined by the German authorities for one of the most bizarre reasons.

Ousmane Dembele is steadily growing at Barcelona since his move from Borussia Dortmund back in 2017. But for all his skills and tricks on the field, the Frenchman’s life off the field has been a controversial one. After being criticized for his video games addiction in the first half of this season, Dembele has now been fined by the German authorities for leaving his rented house in Germany in a poor state.

A Hefty fine:

According to Firstpost, the winger was fined €10000 by the court, half of the actual fine claimed by his landlord. “The house was a dustbin”, said his landlord a few months ago. The landlord also claimed that there was rubbish in every room.

Dembele’s lawyer managed to negotiate the fee down to half of what was asked by the landlord. “Of course Mr Dembele earns a lot of money but he also has the right to be treated corectly”, said the suit.

The Frenchman left Dortmund for Barcelona in 2017 for €105m. He has since become an integral part of the squad despite being on the side-lines for the most of his first season due to injuries.

Dembele has also been struggling with injuries this season with his inclusion for Barcelona’s first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Manchester United still in doubt. Despite his limited games, the winger has scored 11 goals and has provided 5 assists in the league and UCL this season.

Barcelona will face the Red Devils at the Old Trafford on Wednesday night as they look to break the quarter-finals shackles of the European competition. The Catalans are also 11 points ahead in La Liga after their 2-0 victory against Atletico Madrid on the weekend.

Author’s Take:

Dembele’s decision to leave his Germany’s house in a mess is an irresponsible behaviour on the youngster’s part. But after being criticized and fined by Barcelona in the past and now by German authorities, the winger will be hopefully be careful in the future. Additionally, being around the likes of Leo Messi and Sergio Busquets will also help the Frenchman.
