The Spaniard manager has won three titles at Barcelona so far but he is yet to be completely accepted by Barcelona fans. And now, a few players have joined the list as well.
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde is already not favorite amongst the fans due to his tactics. The Spaniard has never cared about the swagger of football but has focused more on the result. Due to his tactics, Valverde is yet to sign a new contract with the club despite winning three trophies so far. And now, a few players from the club are also said to be unhappy with the manager.
Five Players Unhappy?
According to the reports in Marca, five Barcelona players, Arturo Vidal, Dembele, Malcom, Denis Suarez and Rafinha are unhappy with the boss. Given the fact that most of these players are not in Valverde’s ideal starting line-up, one can understand their frustration.
Of the given players, Arturo Vidal’s case is a curious one as the Chilean was signed as Paulinho’s direct replacement. The Brazilian was a crucial part of Valverde’s tactics last season and Vidal was expected to fit in as his replacement. But the midfielder has started just two league games so far and is eager to get more playing time under Valverde.
Ousmane Dembele has also been excluded from the starting line-up of late due to his off-field issues. The Frenchman has been in the news due to his discipline issues and is rumored to leave Barcelona in January.
Rafinha was also expected to be back amongst the starters after he successfully replaced Leo Messi during the Argentine’s injury. But the Brazilian’s future is again in the air and he is eager to join Inter after spending six months at the Italian club last season.
Malcom is another summer signing currently unhappy with Ernesto Valverde. The Brazilian scored his first ever Barcelona goal against Inter in the Champions League but is yet to settle down in the squad. Denis Suarez is yet to play a single minute in La Liga this season and the Spaniard is unhappy with his role in the squad.
In a club like Barcelona, it is always going to be difficult to get into the first team. Most of the players mentioned above are youngsters and need to keep working hard in order to get into Valverde’s good boos. Arturo Vidal is crucial to Barcelona’s chances in the Champions League this season and he will play a role later in the season.
Dembele’s problem is completely due to the Frenchman’s careless attitude and he needs to be more serious if he wants to make it big at Barcelona.
