Paris Saint-Germain‘s contract offer for midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been declined by the player.
Barcelona have been handed some great news, after it was reported that target and PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot is ready to force through a move to the Spanish giants this summer. This is according to Don Balon, who note that Barcelona are eager to sign the player despite their being just days left in the transfer market.
Rabiot did not make Didier Deschamps’ squad for the World Cup, as Les Bleus went on to claim victory in Russia. And after being placed on the stand-by list, he withdrew after being frustrated at the decision. He played 49 times for PSG last season as they won the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France double. And Rabiot scored in his club’s 3-0 demolition of Caen as they opened League 1 with a comfortable victory.
Rabiot, who PSG are after around €40M for should they sell him as per AS, would be a great signing for Ernesto Valverde’s side, and they will surely be delighted to hear the news that he’s willing to force a move to the Nou Camp through. Tuchel hopes to keep Rabiot at the club but toldCanal Plus : “I’m not certain he will stay. I want him to stay but it’s up to him. He has great potential and can improve even further. He can become a top player but has to stay with us.”
While Tuchel remains hopeful that the Frenchman would agree to continue with the Ligue 1 giants. It’d be interesting to see how his future shapes up.
Adrien Rabiot’s technical quality coupled with his vision and passing ability, he could fit the style of play at Barcelona well, and so if he does indeed refuse a new contract at PSG, a move to Spain could make sense despite the disappointment it would cause on Tuchel’s part.
