Manchester United have appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their caretaker manager until the end of the season.
United sacked their then manager Jose Mourinho after Liverpool beat them 3-1 at Anfield. United were linked with numerous coaches to replace Mourinho at the helm of the club, but the club decided to appoint their former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their caretaker manager at least until the end of this season.
Under Ole Gunnar, Manchester United started brightly and defeated Cardiff City 5-1. It was also the first time United scored 5 goals in the Premier League since Alex Ferguson’s last match as United manager.
Current Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino is considered as United’s primary option as the permanent coach for the next season. However, former Chelsea and Tottenham player Graham Roberts said Manchester United should go for Jurgen Klopp, who currently manages Liverpool.
Roberts, as a response to former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher’s column on Telegraph, tweeted, that they should go for Klopp.
Carragher, in his column, had said if Mauricio Pochettino was offered the Manchester United job, he had to take it. He also said it would be difficult for Pochettino to reject the offers from Old Trafford, the former Liverpool player claimed.
Why not go for klopp @Carra23 ?
Perfect for united.

Can I ask one thing @GNev2 @Carra23 today that I hear about my football team and not man united for four hours and them wanting our manager. We are above them in the League and fighting for more important things than them currently. @SkySportsPL @SkySportsNews

I’m a Utd fan & regardless to whether I’d like to see Poch at Utd or not. I think all this stuff from the media is so disrespectful to @SpursOfficial. This is really starting to piss me off. Spurs improving year on year organically (unlike Man City & Chelsea) leave them be ffs?

Author’s Take
It remains to be seen if Mauricio Pochettino will join Manchester United next season. What if Ole Gunnar’s Manchester United keeps on delivering fantastic performances? What if another, better candidate come into the picture for United’s job. As of now, Pochettino is still the favourite choice to be the next United manager.
