According to reports, Lionel Messi is furious at Ousmane Dembele after Barcelona were held to a frustrating draw by Getafe on Sunday.

A disallowed Luis Suarez goal summed up a frustrating evening for Catalans as the runaway La Liga leaders dropped points for the second week after a 0-0 stalemate with Getafe on Sunday. Goalless draws are as rare as mistakes from Lionel Messi but Getafe was successful in earning theirs on Sunday as Barcelona lead at the top was trimmed to seven points.

Barcelona Was Held To A Frustrating Goalless Draw On Sunday.

With Barcelona’s new signing failing to make a positive impact and Messi and Luis Suarez being stopped by the visitor’s defense it meant that Barcelona has failed to score at the Camp Nou in La Liga for the first time since 2016. Philippe Coutinho looked anything but threatening as he tested Vicente Guaita’s goal with shows but failed to convert any of those two chances as Barcelona dropped two points at La Liga.

The Brazilian was taken off after an hour. However, Messi apparently pinpointed the blame at one of his strike-partner after he failed to make a positive impact on the pitch. And that player is Ousmane Dembele, who marked his injury comeback in yesterday’s game. Dembele came off the bench in the 63rd minute of the game and replaced Paco Alcacer.

Ousmane Dembele, who arrived at Barcelona as their second most expensive signing, failed to create any impact on the pitch. The Frenchmen has had bad luck with injuries so far but looked merely threatening as he took on the pitch yesterday. Dembele looked completely lost as Barcelona were held to a frustrating draw.

Lionel Messi was furious at Ousmane Dembele after he failed to make any positive impact. According to Spanish Outlet Don Balon, Messi felt that Dembele’s performance was below expectation. The Spanish outlet also claimed that Messi was angry at Dembele’s passing accuracy.

Ousmane Dembele started on the bench, but when he came on the pitch, he looked lost for ideas.

Don Balon also reported that Messi has said Dembele to buck up his ideas or either move to some other club when the transfer market opens in the summer. Barcelona is also looking forward to bolstering their attacking options at the end the season and Atletico Madrid hitman Antonie Griezmann is seen as Barcelona’s top target. But for Griezmann to arrive some players have to depart.

Speaking about Barcelona’s next station in La Liga. Barcelona will pay a visit to SD Eibar’s Ipurua Municipal Stadium on Saturday with hopes of continuing their unbeaten run in the league.

Author’s Take-

Speaking about yesterday’s game, it was Barcelona’s worst performance of the season. Yesterday’s game surely must have given some hopes to anyone watching from Chelsea. However, given the number of games Barcelona has played since the commencement of 2018, it looks players need a rest before they continue their journey to treble.
