Serie A giants, Napoli have reportedly reached an agreement with Tottenham defender ahead of a transfer this summer.
Rumors of the English international joining the Serie A side have been doing rounds for quite some time now. But it reached another level when his wife made a social media post in Napoli.
And now as per latest reports, Ancelotti’s side have secured the services of Tottenham’s 28-year-old Kieran Trippier, although only on personal terms. But a formal discussion is set to take place in coming weeks, most preferably after the Champions League final where the defender is expected to feature.

However, there are also reports of ‘no contact’ been made between the two clubs. This means previous reports that a €20m fee has been agreed are wide of the mark.
It is expected that an amount in this region would be enough to persuade Tottenham to sell the Englishman. Trippier has endured a substantial drop in form this season for Spurs despite having a brilliant World Cup for England.
Trippier has looked off colour after World Cup
The right-back was included in the team of the tournament last summer in Russia. No one can forget his brilliant semi-final free-kick but he has been mediocre for the north London club since then.

Moreover, Mauricio Pochettino reportedly looking to raise a lot of funds for a summer restructuring at Tottenham, it is believed he would consider selling Trippier if the right bid came in.
Trippier, who has also been linked with Atletico Madrid, has three years remaining on his contract at Tottenham. The 28-year-old Tripper has played 37 times for Tottenham this season .
Ancelotti is reportedly willing to put his faith in the former Burnley defender and could make him his first choice in Italy, replacing one of his current right-back Malcuit or Hysaj.

The defender would also cost a heavy fee as well, as Spurs have apparently put a £34m tag on him. However, the Italian club expects to get it lowered by negotiations. So, it’ll be interesting to see how much Napoli can pay for the England star.
Author’s Take:
Trippier has been far from his best for the majority of the season and manager Mauricio Pochettino looks ruthless in selling players this time. And it’s not a bad option to let go of Trippier. It’ll be a good purchase for Napoli as well because Trippier can easily fit in Ancelotti’s style of football.
