SL vs AUS: Sri Lanka are hosting Australia in the first match on Wednesday, June 29. Moreover, the game is taking place at Galle International Cricket Stadium in Galle, Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka are coming into this fixture after losing against Australia in the fifth ODI on Friday. Sri Lanka went on to win the toss and they decided to have a bat first.

The Lankans were all out for just 160 runs in 44 overs. It was a poor batting display from them. Australia chased down the target in the 40th over and they won the game by four wickets.

However, Sri Lanka went on to win the five match ODI series against Australia. They won it by 3-2 and this is also their first home series win against Australia in a long time.

Kusal Mendis went on to win the man of the series award for his display against the Aussies. He scored 249 runs in the five match ODI series.

In a piece of shocking news, Angelo Mathews has gone on to test positive for COVID-19. He was there in the playing XI and Oshada Fernando will now replace him.

SLC statement said, “Angelo Mathews tested positive for Covid-19. He was found to be positive during a Rapid Anti-Gen test conducted on the player, yesterday. The test was done, as the player was feeling unwell. Accordingly, he has been isolated from the rest of the team members and is following Covid-19 protocols.”
