The former Manchester United manager is rumored to return to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are desperate to have a manager. The Los Blancos are clearly struggling in La Liga and are not favourites to win the Champions League. With players on treatment table and the playing XI constantly changing it seems it will be tough for the Los Blancos to finish in the top 3 in the La Liga. Amidst of Jose being the next manager of Madrid it seems current Madrid boss Solari has delivered his verdict regarding it.
Real Madrid coach Santi Solari rejected the idea he would be worried by speculation that Jose Mourinho could return to Bernabeu. Sacked by Manchester United on Tuesday, Mourinho was Madrid coach from 2010 to 2013. Mourinho won the Liga title in his second season, but was falling at the semifinal stage in the Champions League in all three seasons.
Mourinho’s three years at the Bernabeu ended sourly. There were serious fall-out with senior dressing room figures including then-captain Iker Casillas and current skipper Sergio Ramos. There were reports of fallout with Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo as well. However, even at the time club president Florentino Perez suggested the door was not closed.
His name dominated a news conference in Abu Dhabi ahead of Wednesday’s Club World Cup semifinal vs. Kashima Antlers. Solari said, “I have the maximum admiration and respect for all my fellow coaches. Especially those who have been at this club and given us joy. How would I be worried about rumours or speculation about Real Madrid? It happens every day, is just part of our reality.” Solari had an impressive start as Madrid coach.
He won all four games as interim boss before being confirmed on a full-time contract. However, recent results and performances, which included a 3-0 home Champions League defeat to CSKA Moscow, have raised doubts over his long-term future.
It seems Jose might return to Real next summer. However, at this moment, Real have no choice left but to stick with Solari. However, Jose’s selection wouldn’t be a great choice. The Los Blancos should look at the likes of Allegeri and Pochettino.
