South American Winger Signs Four Year Deal With Chelsea

It has been confirmed now that Chelsea’s 27 year old winger Willian has signed a new four-year contract, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge for the near future at least, after interest from a few clubs for his services. The Brazilian international was voted the Blues’ player of the year in 2015/16 by the fans of the Premier League giants and his team-mates as well and has now extended his stay in west London till 2020, as the club looks to rebuild under new boss Antonio Conte.

With a total of 19 goals in 140 appearances for the west Londoners since joining them back in 2013 from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala for £32m, the attacker has seen his share of ups and downs at the club.

He was an integral part of the team under former boss Jose Mourinho, which lifted both the Premier League and Capital One Cup titles during the 2014-15 season.

Further, Willian spoke after the contract extension to the club’s official website and vowed to help Chelsea achieve further success in the upcoming days. He stated, “I’m very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. It’s a dream to continue with this club and over the next four years I will try to help the team win more trophies.”

“It’s been an amazing time for me since I joined the club three years ago, I’ve won titles and last season I was named Chelsea Player of the Year.”

“I hope to be able to stay at that level during the coming seasons and achieve more success.”
