As the Vijay Hazare Trophy is coming near, there are many big names such as Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina etc who have become the captain of their respective states for the 50 over format game. Excluding them, another surprising duo of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja who are coming back after a long tour of England tests have come back to their home team Saurashtra and will play for them in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018.
Pujara had a tough season in test series managing only 278 runs in 4 tests at an average of 38.29 whereas Ravindra Jadeja played one match and in which he scored an very good unbeaten 86 runs in the first innings and picking up 4 wickets in the same showing his all rounder strength which he has done in the past also for the team. Pujara also played for Yorkshire before the test matches.
The comeback of this two players will benefit last year runners up Saurashtra .They will team up against the other big names such as Sheldon Jackson, Jaydev Unadkat and Robin Uthappa. The duo will but miss the half of the tournament as they are scheduled for the West Indies series which will be hosted by India.
Saurashtra will be playing there opening match against Uttar Pradesh at Feroz Shah Kotla. It will be a tough match for them as Suresh Raina is back as captain for his home side with the likes of the good players like Akashdeep Nath ,young pacer Shivam Mavi and Ankit Rajpoot who are in good form right now.
