“I would like to make an official statement regarding to the news about the meetings between Arda Turan and our club: We had meetings after the possibility of Arda Turan leaving Barcelona and our club lawyer finally went to Spain”, the chairman has declared.
Istanbul Basaksehir have been looking to bring Turan to his home country. The Barcelona man showed great ability during his stint at Atletico and his downfall is a very disappointing one. Turan’s high wages are understood to be problem the Turkish side but with a very low fee on the cards, Basaksehir may be able to cough up a respectable fee.
Author’s take
It is very sad to see that Turan is leaving La Liga without reaching his full potential. He is a top player and should have a great career in Turkey. The negotiations over his wages should definitely be the last hurdle.
